The case was unusual both in terms of the addressed aspects and of the claims raised and the large number of parties (including the National Agency for Drugs and Medical Devices, the attending physician, the hospital where the clinical trial was conducted and the other hospitals in which the patient had been hospitalized, the insurer and the clinical trial sponsor).
Evidentiary matters were also complex, involving even an expertise conducted by the Forensic Medicine Institute.
